Participants will get an overview of The Edwardians: Age of Elegance exhibition and a chance to see the works of art on display, learning about the lives and tastes of two of Britain’s most fashionable royal couples – King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, and King George V and Queen Mary – from their family lives and personal collecting to their glittering social circles and spectacular royal events. A creative workshop will then look at personal and diplomatic gifts, what they say about the giver, and how they are often displayed, with participants making their own frames, taking inspiration from decorative motifs and the Faberge frames on display. Tickets are free for our group.
